Marcel Brozius
From a young age, Marcel always knew he wanted to work with animals. Initially, his passion for exploring different cultures and languages led him into the freight forwarding industry. But after transporting his first dog, he realized he had found his true calling—a dream job that perfectly combined his interests and expertise.
In 2004, Marcel completed his IATA LAR (Live Animal Regulations) course and has since been dedicated to safely shipping animals worldwide.
Between 2010 and 2013, Marcel served on the board of directors for IPATA, becoming the first-ever regional director for Europe. He continues to contribute his expertise by serving on both the ethics and country profile committees.
Karin Gurtner
Growing up in the peaceful and magnificent Bernese Oberland, Karin was surrounded by various animals since her early childhood. Rabbits, cats, dogs, tortoises and horses – all accompanied Karin daily and were looked after and cared for with full dedication. This passion, coupled with a keen interest in aviation, led her by a happy coincidence to the Zurich Airport in 2016. After several years in the industry it is clear for Karin: This is her dream job!
Her faithful companion Parson Russell Terrier Jamie is always at her side and keeps everyone in the office on the go. Karin knows first-hand what it means to entrust a beloved pet into the hands of a stranger.
Tamara Hänger
Tamara has been growing up with different animals since she was little. From turtles, rabbits, birds, parrots and currently snakes, Tamara has always taken every animal into her heart.
Tamara has been working at the Zurich airport since 2015 and has always had a big interest in its atmosphere and enthusiasm for air freight specifically. In May 2019 Tamara started working for Moving Animals and through her previous experience as a handling agent for various airlines she has already gained much experience. Tamara enjoys working with the four-legged friends in air freight and finds her work versatile, exotic and very interesting.
Nicole Serafino
Nicole comes from the shipping business, where she gained many years of experience in the air freight department in particular. The shipping world at the airport Zurich is a small world and Nicole was asked if she had any interest at joining the venture. She loves nature and wildlife and always wanted to share this with her two children.
She works at the reception and in accounting, Nicole is therefore often our first contact person for our customers be them two or four legged.
Marc Aichholz
Marc Aichholz grew up in the idyllic Black Forest, surrounded by a variety of animals.
In addition to his parents› horse breeding, goats, chickens, ducks, and fish enriched his childhood, but dogs and cats were always his closest companions.
His professional path initially led him into the logistics industry, where he specialized in international road transport and Swiss customs. However, Marc always felt a special attraction to the airport environment, which led him to shift his career focus.
Since November 2023, Marc has been part of the Moving Animals team, where he brings his experience in logistics and his love for animals.
Sébastien Baumann-Hopfner
As far as Sébastien can remember, he has always lived in the company of animals of all sorts, mainly rescues that his parents adopted from cats, ducks, horses to injured prey birds that he helped nurture back to health at his dad’s family aviary.
With a background in lyric arts and haute couture perfumery, he eventually moved in 2005 from Northern America to Zurich, Switzerland where he enjoys life with his dogs Appia & Niko and four cats Luna, Mumsli, Lucy & Lulu, all rescues.
His experience with animals goes back to his childhood and in animal shipping since 2008.
Karin Oprach
From young, Karin has shared her life with animals, cats, dogs, hamsters, rabbits, chinchillas… Now an adult, Karin has 5 cats of her own, all rescued from shelters.
Since 2009, Karin offers pet-sitting services in Geneva among other services as part of her concierge business. In 2020, she started collaborating with Moving Animals, as their person on the ground on the French speaking side of Switzerland. Since then, she is often the first human that pets travelling with Moving Animals to Geneva meet and the last one when they relocate out of Switzerland.
Karin loves working in animal shipping and taking loving care of the pets our clients entrust us with.
